Machine Programmer (CNC – Turret Punch) (1 position)

Job Purpose:

To develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs for turret punch machines, ensuring the efficient and accurate fabrication of sheet metal components. The Machine Programmer plays a critical role in translating technical drawings into precise machine instructions, collaborating with production teams to optimize setup and minimize downtime, and upholding quality and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and modify CNC programs for turret punch machines using CAM software
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements
• Collaborate with machine operators to ensure proper setup and operation of turret machines
• Troubleshoot programming and machine issues to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate documentation of programs, revisions, and machine settings
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards
• Recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing technology or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a manufacturing setting.
• Skills:
• Proven experience in CNC programming, particularly with turret punch presses
• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Amada, Trumpf, or similar turret punch machines
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
