Job Summary

The Carrier Sales Representative sources, onboards, and manages relationships with refrigerated carriers to ensure consistent freight coverage across assigned lanes. This role focuses on outbound prospecting, rate negotiation, and capacity management in a fast‑paced transportation brokerage environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and qualify refrigerated carriers via outbound calls, load boards, and referrals
  • Onboard carriers, including documentation, insurance verification, and TMS setup
  • Negotiate spot and contract rates while protecting margin
  • Secure reliable coverage for refrigerated freight and support core lanes
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with owner‑operators and fleet managers
  • Serve as the primary contact for carriers regarding loads, payments, and service issues
  • Track market trends and provide capacity insights to internal teams
  • Meet activity and performance KPIs related to calls, onboardings, and loads covered
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or transportation logistics
  • Proven success sourcing carriers and negotiating rates
  • Experience with DAT, Truckstop.com, and TMS platforms
  • Strong phone presence and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage a high‑volume pipeline independently
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Refrigerated or temperature‑controlled freight experience
  • Existing carrier relationships in the reefer space
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and carrier compliance
  • Experience with McLeod, Turvo, or similar systems
