Senior Cloud Architect (Azure)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of hybrid IT infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. The role focuses on Windows/Linux systems, Azure and AWS cloud technologies, virtualization, disaster recovery, automation, and enterprise infrastructure architecture.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Wintel environments, cloud platforms, enterprise storage and backup solutions, and infrastructure automation, with the ability to lead projects and mentor technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable hybrid infrastructure solutions across Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments
• Manage Azure services including Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, App Services, AKS, Docker, Storage, Networking, IAM, and Azure Site Recovery
• Lead infrastructure modernization, migration, and obsolescence projects
• Assess existing environments for cloud readiness and create migration roadmaps and risk mitigation plans
• Implement migration strategies including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring

• Manage and support Windows Server environments (2012–2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS, RDS, clustering, and PKI
• Administer virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VSAN
• Support enterprise storage and backup platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell Storage, Veeam, and NetBackup

• Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions across cloud and on-premises environments
• Implement security best practices for identity management, RBAC, compliance, and data protection
• Support vulnerability remediation, audit readiness, and infrastructure governance

• Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using PowerShell, Terraform, and Ansible
• Integrate enterprise infrastructure systems, backup tools, storage solutions, and third-party applications
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks

• Act as the subject matter expert for Wintel and cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership for infrastructure initiatives

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Azure and/or AWS cloud architecture, implementation, and migration
• Strong experience with Windows Server administration and Wintel technologies
• Proven expertise in VMware virtualization technologies
• Experience with enterprise storage and backup solutions including NetApp, Pure Storage, Veeam, and NetBackup
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible
• Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Certifications such as:
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect / Administrator
• AWS Architect / Administrator
• MCSE
• VMware VCP
• ITIL Foundation
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Basic Linux administration skills (RHEL, Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian)
