Position Title: Helpdesk Specialist – Davao
Note: The Helpdesk Specialist title was used due to system limitations where a Helpdesk option is not available.
  • Review and process Letters of Authorization (LOA) in accordance with established procedures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Clearly explain coverage and non-coverage details to members, ensuring proper understanding of benefits.
  • Verify transaction details and ensure all data entries comply with company standards and guidelines.
  • Promptly address inquiries from members and partner providers, delivering accurate and timely information.
  • Handle escalations and concerns related to outpatient and inpatient services, coordinating with internal teams as needed to resolve issues and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Actively offer and guide members to Maxicare Primary Care Networks (PCN) and other Maxicare services.
  • Recommend suitable packages and promote Maxicare’s exclusive benefits, helping members maximize their healthcare coverage.
  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities and support various campaigns or operational tasks during manpower shortages or low service levels, ensuring continuity of service and operational efficiency.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare operations, helpdesk, customer service, or HMO/insurance processing
  • Knowledge of LOA processing, healthcare benefits, and coverage verification is an advantage
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain coverage and non-coverage details
  • Experience handling member inquiries, provider coordination, and service escalations
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to verify transaction data and ensure compliance with internal policies
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, queue-based environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic systems navigation; experience with healthcare systems is a plus
  • Willing to support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities and take on additional tasks during manpower shortages
  • Amenable to shift work and onsite reporting in Davao, as required
