Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Summary

The role plays a key part in ensuring smooth inbound and outbound logistics and timely fulfillment of customer and internal orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily warehouse functions including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
• Monitor workflows to ensure efficient material handling and accurate inventory movements.
• Implement and improve warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize operational efficiency.

• Supervise warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and front-line staff (typically 20–100 employees).
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and training, and implement staff development programs.
• Enforce discipline, timekeeping, and attendance compliance in coordination with HR.

• Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damages, and losses.
• Coordinate with Inventory Control and Purchasing teams to optimize stock levels.

• Analyze warehouse performance metrics (e.g., order fulfillment rate, picking accuracy, throughput).
• Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement projects using tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean principles.
• Document and update SOPs and work instructions for warehouse processes.

• Enforce safety protocols and ensure warehouse operations are compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct safety drills, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
• Ensure warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is maintained and operated safely.

• Use WMS (Warehouse Management System) and ERP software to monitor inventory movements and generate reports.
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse KPIs to management.
• Ensure data integrity in all warehouse transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a warehouse environment.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proficient in WMS, ERP systems, and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory control, and warehouse best practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Safety certifications (e.g., BOSH, LCM).
• Training in Lean Six Sigma, 5S, or related operational methodologies.
