Finance Accounting Specialist

Purpose of the role
The Financial Accounting Specialist assists in managing the day to day accounting operation by ensuring complete, accurate and timely recording of transactions in accordance with the accounting standards. Further, it is their responsibility to ensure that subsidiary records and account schedules are well maintained; budget and planning records safekept with actual expense regularly monitored vs budget via preparing regular monthly review of expenses to support management objective of an efficient and cost effective operations and sound financial standing for continued profitability and growth.
What you'll be doing- General Ledger
- 1. Record adjustments and journals to general ledger books.
- 2. Review expense variance analysis for assigned division.
- 3. Prepare and reviews P&L and BS schedules.
- 4. Propose adjustments to errors noted in the schedules.
- 5. Prepare manual adjustment for stock withdrawals
- General Accounting/Reporting
- 1. Ensure that the Company financial records are maintained and prepared in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and Internal Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International GAAP, SEC and BIR regulations.
- 2. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close of general ledger.
- 3. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results in compliance to corporate office set timelines and standards.
- 4. Ensure timely completion of year-end audit/ audited financial statements
- 5. Ensure compliance to requirements of SEC, BIR and other regulatory agencies where applicable; i.e. timely declaration and payout of dividends to avoid IAET and SEC penalties; timely and accurate filing of tax returns, timely filing of audited FS and other documents, securing business permits and registrations from local government, etc.
- Lease Accounting (Motor Vehicle)
- 1. Ensure compliance to applicable accounting standard/s on leases (ROU) for motor vehicles such as the following:
- 1.1. Capitalization (initial and subsequent remeasurements)
- 1.2. Amortization of ROU asset
- 1.3. Retirement and disposal including recognition of gains and losses
- 1.4. Posting of lease payments (interest and lease liability)
- 2. Provide details for BPC input related to ROU
- 3. Provide analysis to support exceptions noted in Monthly Quality Report (MQR) related to ROU.
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- 1. Ensure compliance to applicable accounting standard/s
- 1.1. Capitalization
- 1.2. Depreciation run
- 1.3. Retirement and disposal including recognition of gains and losses
- 2. Provide details for BPC input related to Fixed Asset
- 3. Provide analysis to support exceptions noted in Monthly Quality Report (MQR) related to ROU.
- 4. Ensure accuracy of fixed asset records including regular physical count and reconciliation to record per books
- Budget & Planning
- 1. Assist in budget/LE preparation related to ROU, fleet and mobile phone related accounts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, preferably a Certified Public Accountant
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Financial Statement Preparation & Analysis, Month-end closing & reports, External Audit, and Budgeting
- With experienced in SAP
