The Production, Planning and Control (PPC) department supports the production activities of the metal fabrication facility. The PPC encoder is expected to help monitor the movement of items from raw materials to final product as it moves through the production line, by encoding data provided by the production group.
The encoder will spend over 90% of their time inputting data into Microsoft Excel. However, he or she is also expected to go down to the production floor from time to time in order to qualify and validate the information provided.
Duties and Responsibilities- Reviewing data to ensure it is accurate before entering it into monitoring system
- Encoding all necessary information into monitoring system with complete details
- Maintaining the data system and ensuring all information is correctly encoded
- Keeping records of data entry and database information
- Organizing and maintaining original paper documents
- Self-auditing, checking for errors and duplication
- Photocopying hard copies of documents as neede
- Other related tasks
- Highly meticulous and a stickler for following procedures
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
- At least a high school graduate
- PPC experience is a plus
