The Finance and Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting strategic financial planning initiatives. This role includes managing the preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, and various compliance reports.
The Assistant Manager plays a key role in implementing improvements in financial processes, policies, and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Finance and Accounting Management- Manage the preparation of the annual financial statements, including drafting of the financial statement face and accompanying notes.
- Review and monitor subsidiary ledgers, generate reports, and verify entries posted to the company’s accounting system, MC Frame.
- Approve petty cash fund (PCF) requests and requests for payments (RFP) while ensuring adherence to budget and policy requirements.
- Coordinate the timely preparation and submission of quarterly financial reports to the parent company.
- Sign financial vouchers and relevant forms upon request, providing a final check for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports, including to BIR, SEC, PEZA, FIRB, and local government units (LGU).
- Oversee the filing of tax documents, including 1702Q, 1702MX, and PEZA/FIRB forms, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax returns and assist in external financial and tax audits.
- Handle the uploading of various compliance documents, such as AFS, 1702Q, 1702MX, LGU Official Receipts, General Information Sheets (GIS), and Real Property Tax (RPT) documents.
- Prepare strategic financial plans and forecasts.
- Identify and implement financial process improvements, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Draft and revise financial policies and procedures to strengthen the company’s internal controls and mitigate financial risks.
- Assist in developing and filling out financial templates for consolidation purposes, specifically for FECL requirements.
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff to enhance team performance, productivity, and professional growth.
- Delegate tasks and provide guidance to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reports and filings.
- Review and approve staff-prepared financial vouchers, including purchase and check vouchers, to maintain accurate records.
- Foster a culture of compliance, accuracy, and process improvement within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Finance and Accounting team and ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with special projects or initiatives related to Finance and Accounting team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, Finance, or a related field, MA or MBA is a Plus
- Minimum of 5 Years in Finance and Accounting: Solid experience in finance and accounting roles, with exposure to financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting. At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, demonstrating ability to lead a team, manage workflows, and oversee staff performance.
- Proven track record in handling compliance requirements for BIR, SEC, PEZA, and LGU, including preparing and submitting mandated reports.
- Hands-on experience with tax return preparation, financial audits, and working with auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Background in analyzing financial data and contributing to strategic financial planning and budgeting.
- Experience using accounting software (such as MC Frame or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills for data management and reporting.
- Licensed CPA, (Certified Tax Technician and other certification is a plus)
