A Social Media Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution, performance, and optimization of a company’s social media presence across platforms. The role blends strategy, content management, analytics, and team coordination.
- Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement day-to-day and long-term social media strategies
- Ensure consistent brand voice across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Align social media activities with marketing and business goals
- Content Operations & Management
- Oversee content calendars and publishing schedules
- Coordinate with designers, copywriters, and video editors
- Ensure timely posting and quality control of content
- Manage content approvals and workflows
- Community Management
- Monitor engagement (comments, messages, mentions)
- Respond to audience inquiries or escalate issues
- Maintain positive brand reputation online
- Performance Tracking & Analytics
- Track KPIs such as engagement rate, reach, impressions, conversions
- Use tools like Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or Google Analytics
- Provide regular performance reports and insights
- Recommend improvements based on data
- Campaign & Paid Media Support
- Assist in planning and executing paid social campaigns
- Coordinate with performance marketing teams
- Optimize campaigns based on results
- Team & Workflow Coordination
- Manage social media coordinators or specialists
- Collaborate with marketing, PR, and creative teams
- Ensure smooth content production workflows
- Trend Monitoring & Innovation
- Stay updated on social media trends, algorithm changes, and platform updates
- Suggest new content formats (Reels, Shorts, live streams, etc.)
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
(or equivalent experience in social media/digital marketing)
Experience- 3–6+ years of experience in social media management or digital marketing
- Experience managing brand accounts or agency clients
- Proven track record of growing engagement or followers
- Proficiency with social media management tools:
- Meta Business Suite
- Hootsuite / Buffer / Sprout Social
- Basic understanding of:
- Paid social advertising (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads)
- Analytics tools (Google Analytics, platform insights)
- Familiarity with content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite is a plus)
