3D Generalist

Position Overview: The 3D Generalist is responsible for modeling, texturing, and animating stylized 3D environments and visual effects for immersive applications and interactive platforms. The role requires a balance of artistic creativity and technical proficiency to create engaging, optimized, and interactive game environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Model stylized environment assets such as landscapes, buildings, props, and interactive elements.
  2. Optimize assets for real-time rendering without compromising visual quality.
  3. Develop modular and tileable assets to support flexible world-building.
  4. Optimize texture resolution and UV maps for performance efficiency.
  5. Implement materials and shaders that interact effectively with in-game lighting.
  6. Assemble assets into engaging game environments using industry-standard engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
  7. Collaborate with designers to ensure accurate scale, layout, and interactivity.
  8. Apply lighting, post-processing effects, and particle systems to enhance realism and atmosphere.
  9. Create dynamic VFX elements like fog, fire, rain, water simulations, and particle effects.
  10. Develop animated environmental elements such as swaying trees and flickering lights.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Maya).
  2. Skilled in graphics design tools (e.g., Photoshop) for texture creation.
  3. Ability to create 3D models (characters, environments) from low-poly to high-poly.
  4. Expertise in sculpting, modeling, UV mapping, and material creation.
  5. Knowledge of character rigging, retopology, and mesh simplification.
  6. Experience with ZBrush for 3D sculpting and Maya for animation and rendering.
  7. Familiarity with optimizing assets for performance in game engines.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
