Job Summary
The IT Business Analyst serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and the IT team, ensuring that technology solutions align with organizational needs and objectives. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and supporting the design and implementation of IT systems and processes.The IT Business Analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, enhance system functionality, and ensure successful delivery of technology-driven initiatives.
DAILY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with Agile practices, SDLC phases, and project management standards.
Translate requirements into functional specifications, user stories, data models, and workflows to guide system and BI solution development.
Support project planning, task tracking, and progress reporting to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and integration teams to define data mapping, ETL logic, and system interfaces.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs using Power BI and Excel to provide actionable business insights.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting outputs.
Facilitate system integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), preparing test cases and validating outcomes against requirements.
Troubleshoot data and reporting issues with IT, analytics, and business teams, recommending fixes and optimizations.
Document business and technical requirements, workflows, and reporting standards for traceability and future reuse.
Identify and recommend opportunities for process automation, reporting standardization, and data pipeline optimization.
Stay informed on BI, analytics, and governance trends to introduce improvements in reporting and decision-making processes
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other closely related fields..
Work Experience: None required; internship experience in business analysis, IT systems, or process improvement in manufacturing industry is preferred.
Special Training/Skills Required: Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and creating functional specifications; strong analytical and data interpretation skills using Microsoft Power BI and Excel; knowledge of business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) for workflow design and documentation; familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) for task tracking and collaboration; basic understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and system integration concepts; solid project management skills in planning, execution, and monitoring deliverables to ensure timely completion.
Other Preferred Skills/Competencies: Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma; effective in stakeholder coordination across functional teams; strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to optimize business workflows; capable of managing project timelines and risks, presenting findings clearly, and adapting to new technologies and BI trends.
