The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day to day management of accounting activities, maintaining close relationship with key personnel, and providing assistance with the evaluation of accounting, financial and system related issues for Islands Souvenirs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in the development of accounting processes and internal controls.
• Coordinates monthly closing activities including the review of journal entries, financial reporting packages, variance analysis and account reconciliations.
• Ensures compliance with the generally accepted accounting policies (GAAP).
• Works closely with the Finance and departmental management to manage expenses in conjunction with the overall business plan objectives.
• Works closely with the Operations and IT in development and continued management of revenue assurance processes.
• Oversees cash and credit card reconciliation processes.
• Works closely with Operations on credit risk management and A/R collection issues. Monitors collection risk through review of A/R aging and other analytical reports and develops bad debt reserves.
• Researches and evaluates complex accounting and business issues and develops appropriate action plans and recommendations.
• Assists in the preparation and review of tax reporting packages.
• Manages accounting staff and assists with administrative functions, including employment decisions, performance appraisals, and staff development.
• Assists with special projects, as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

• Must be Accounting graduate/BS Accountancy.
• At least 3-5 years Experience
• Must be highly analytical.
• Must possess an expert knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Working knowledge of Quick book.
