Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting roles
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
- Experience with BAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Qualifications and key tasks:
- Strong proficiency in Xero software is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
Key tasks will involve, but not limited to:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Process and manage payroll, including superannuation and leave accruals
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit readiness
- Support the external accountant with year-end closing and tax returns
- Other Ad-hoc requirements
