Material Engineer - Mandaue

The Material Engineer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction materials used in civil works projects. This role requires DPWH accreditation and entails conducting material testing, inspection, and verification in compliance with DPWH standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor all materials testing activities in compliance with DPWH Standard Specifications and project requirements.
• Ensure that all construction materials (aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, etc.) meet quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with laboratories for sampling, testing, and certification of materials.
• Review material test results and recommend acceptance or rejection based on findings.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of material inspections and test reports.
• Conduct site inspections to verify proper materials usage and storage practices.
• Assist in developing quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) procedures for materials.
• Communicate non-conformances to the project team and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with DPWH inspectors and ensure compliance during site inspections and audits.
• Attend project meetings and provide material quality updates as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• DPWH-Accredited Material Engineer I or II (valid and current).
• Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC Registered).
• At least 3 years of experience in material engineering or quality control in civil works.
• Strong knowledge of DPWH standards, specifications, and material testing procedures.
• Proficient in the use of material testing equipment and tools.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in the field and adapt to project-based assignments.
