Business Analyst
WORK SCOPE: The Business Analyst will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, with a strong focus on the insurance industry. The role requires a strong personality to lead discussions, BA expertise with project management skills, and the ability to manage stakeholders including those unfamiliar with BA functions.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven Business Analyst (BA) who will play a pivotal bridging role between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams. The role ensures that business requirements are effectively translated into IT solutions through clear communication and collaboration with the technical practitioners building the system.
The ideal candidate combines business analysis expertise with project management discipline, particularly in an insurance or financial services environment. This position requires a strong personality to lead discussions, influence decision-making, and ensure project outcomes are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Act as a bridge between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that requirements are translated into IT solutions through effective communication and collaboration with developers and system builders.
- Lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders at all levels, providing structure and clarity when roles or deliverables are undefined.
- Manage multiple initiatives with accountability for delivery, ensuring that projects are completed successfully not merely tracked or reported.
- Apply negotiation and problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts, align expectations, and maintain project momentum.
- Demonstrate “manage up” skills by proactively engaging senior leadership, providing insights, and ensuring visibility on project progress.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical perspectives effectively.
- Proven project management experience with a track record of owning project delivery and ensuring completion.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, particularly with stakeholders unfamiliar with BA roles and responsibilities.
- Experience working with vendors or third-party partners is an advantage.
- (PM certification or equivalent experience is a plus.)
