Position Title: Safety Officer
Location: Sta. Rosa, Laguna – Project Site

Reports To: Project Manager / OSH Manager

Job Description:

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with Philippine laws and Japanese construction standards. This role plays a key part in promoting a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce the company’s health and safety policies and procedures on-site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with safety laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., DOLE, OSH, ISO).
  • Prepare and submit reports on safety performance, incidents, and violations.
  • Investigate accidents or near-misses and propose preventive measures.
  • Organize and conduct safety orientation and toolbox meetings for all site personnel.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and drills.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors regarding safety matters.
  • Maintain updated documentation and records of all safety activities.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture among workers, engineers, and subcontractors.

Job Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer (SO2 or SO3).
  • With Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Training.
  • With at least one (1) special training such as TOT, LCM, Safety Audit

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
  • Experience working with Japanese or international construction firms is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Philippine safety regulations (DOLE, OSH standards).
  • Excellent observation, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Other Requirements:

  • Willing to be assigned to various project sites.
  • Physically fit and capable of conducting on-site inspections in active construction zones.
  • The salary range for this position depends on the candidate’s experience and background.
