About the role
COMMSEC INC. is seeking a Drive Test Engineer to join our Electrical/Electronic Engineering team in Metro Manila on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive drive tests and field measurements to evaluate network performance, coverage, and quality across our telecommunications infrastructure.As a Drive Test Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring optimal network functionality and identifying areas for improvement, directly contributing to the delivery of superior service quality to our customers. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of field engineering and data analysis, supporting strategic network optimization initiatives.
Key responsibilities- Conduct drive tests and field measurements using specialized testing equipment to assess network performance, signal strength, and coverage in designated geographic areas
- Collect, analyse, and interpret drive test data to identify network anomalies, coverage gaps, and performance issues
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, measurements, and recommendations for network optimization
- Collaborate with network planning and optimization teams to prioritize and address identified network issues
- Perform post-optimization drive tests to verify the effectiveness of network improvements and changes
- Maintain and calibrate drive test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all measurements
- Support the troubleshooting of reported network issues through targeted drive test activities
- Document all drive test activities, methodologies, and results in accordance with company standards and procedures
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging drive test technologies and methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Drive Test Engineer or similar field testing role within the telecommunications industry
- Strong knowledge of cellular network technologies, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and preferably 5G systems
- Proficiency with drive test tools and software such as TEMS, RxNetworks, Nemo, or equivalent platforms
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Preferred: Experience with network optimization, RF engineering principles, or similar technical specializations
