Position Overview:
We're looking for a skilled Journalist/Reporter to research, write, and package engaging stories with accuracy and speed. The ideal candidate will be able to gather information, build a network of contacts, and develop expertise in a specific sector to deliver high-quality coverage.This role involves understanding the news needs of our business, interacting with clients and stakeholders, and leveraging various media formats to tell compelling stories.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Correspondent, Philippines, you will:
- Writes or packages stories with accuracy and speed and in accordance with our principles and operating standards.
- Gathers information to break news, write or package stories.
- Builds and maintains a set of contacts to break news or to present news in the appropriate form for clients.
- Builds expertise and knowledge to broaden and deepen coverage.
- Embraces the principle of telling stories using the most appropriate media available.
- Understands the news needs of our business and interacts with clients and business stakeholders.
- May be an expert in a particular sector.
- May lead or coach a small team or a team across a region and seeks to get the best of members through empowerment, coaching, mentoring and training.
- May run a network of stringers.
About You
You're a fit for the role of a Correspondent, Philippines if your background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Proven experience in news writing, packaging, and reporting with a strong track record of accuracy and speed.
- Excellent news judgment and ability to cultivate and maintain industry contacts.
- Strong expertise or willingness to develop deep knowledge in specific sectors.
- Proficiency in using various media platforms to tell compelling stories.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring skills, with experience coaching individuals or teams preferred.
