A plumber is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of pipes, fixtures and plumbing systems in residential, commercial or industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Installation & Repair – Installing pipes, fittings, fixtures ( toilets, sinks, showers) & appliances and repairing or replacing broken components or parts.B. Maintenance & Inspection – Performing routine inspections to identify leaks, clogs, or faulty systems using testing equipment for safety and functionality.
C. System Design/Planning – Reading and interpreting blueprints and building plans to map out plumbing layouts.
D. Tool Operation – Utilizing hand and power tools like wrenches, pipe cutters and soldering equipment.
E. Customer Service & Documentation – Providing cost estimates, maintaining work logs and recommending appropriate plumbing solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education : High School Diploma or GED (required).Experience: At least 1 to 2 years working experience in residential, restaurant or hotel set up.
Technical Knowledge: Knowledgeable of water, gas and drainage systems, strong trouble shooting abilities to diagnose issues and familiarity with local codes, safety regulations and building standards.
