Job Title: Sales Accounting Officer
Job Summary:
The Sales Accounting Officer is responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions related to sales. This role includes preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the BU finance teams with data-driven insights.Additionally, the position requires people management skills to oversee a team, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and enhance efficiency in financial reporting and sales accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Record and verify sales transactions and tender accurately in the accounting system.
- Reconcile sales reports with financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Prepare and reconcile concessionaire sales for payment
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Compliance & Audit:
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required financial data.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of sales-related financial activities.
Presentation & Data Management:
- Prepare financial presentations using PowerPoint for management reporting.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, sales performance tracking, and financial reporting.
- Create charts, dashboards, and visual reports to support decision-making.
People Management & Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct training sessions for the team on accounting procedures, reporting, and compliance.
- Foster collaboration between the finance, and operations teams to streamline processes.
- Address team challenges and provide solutions to improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Proven experience in sales accounting, finance, or a similar role.
- Experience in team management, supervision, or leadership roles.
- Strong Excel skills (data analysis).
- Proficiency in PowerPoint for financial presentations and reporting.
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with different teams.
