  • Pump total dynamic head (TDH / TMH)
  • Blower pressure and airflow requirements
  • Service air consumption
  • Room ventilation and heat dissipation requirements
  • Assist in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, and interface sketches.
  • Review P&IDs for mechanical scope and report inconsistencies, clashes, or improvement opportunities to senior engineers.
Equipment Specification & Design Support
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining mechanical equipment lists throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support development of equipment specifications and data sheets based on:
  • Client and project requirements
  • Process design inputs
  • Site, installation, and maintenance constraints
  • Incorporate operability and maintainability considerations into mechanical design documents.
  • Support in preparation of Purchase Order (PO) / Requisition (PR) from approved Technical Specification (TS).
Supplier Technical Review / Post-PO Engineering
  • Assist in reviewing supplier technical offers for compliance with inquiry specifications.
  • Support preparation of Technical Comparison Tables (TCT) and technical clarification questions.
  • Participate in technical discussions with suppliers together with senior engineers, project teams, or buyers.
  • Perform post‑Purchase Order (PO) mechanical engineering activities, including review and checking of vendor drawings, datasheets, calculations, and specifications for compliance with contract requirements and approved design basis.
  • Prepare review comments and support vendor document approval under supervision of the Mechanical Design Lead
Cost & Proposal Support
  • Provide mechanical inputs for quantity take‑off and cost estimation activities.
  • Support proposal teams by preparing technical clarifications, equipment datasheets, and design assumptions.
  • Identify basic opportunities for design or cost optimization and raise them to senior engineers for review and validation.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process engineers to ensure design consistency.
  • Identify interface issues early and escalate to the Mechanical Design Lead when required.
  • Participate in design review meetings and project coordination meetings as assigned.
Standards & Design Compliance
  • Apply applicable Philippine codes and regulations relevant to mechanical systems.
  • Apply relevant international standards (ISO, API, ASME, IEC, as applicable to project scope).
  • Ensure mechanical deliverables follow company engineering guidelines, templates, and standard practices.
  • Implement review comments accurately and within agreed timelines.
HSE Responsibilities (Design Phase)
  • Integrate basic HSE principles into mechanical designs and equipment layouts.
  • Participate in Design Risk Assessments (DRA), focusing on mechanical hazards such as:
  • Rotating equipment
  • Pressure systems
  • Noise, vibration, and heat exposure
  • Comply with applicable HSE requirements during FAT, SAT, and site activities.
  • Apply constructability, operability, and maintainability principles under guidance from senior engineers.
Quality & FAT / SAT Responsibilities
  • Prepare mechanical engineering documents in compliance with company quality systems (OMEGA or equivalent).
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and proper revision control of design deliverables.
  • Address quality review comments promptly and correctly.
  • Support the preparation and/or review of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures for mechanical equipment.
  • Attend FAT and SAT activities when assigned, together with senior engineers or project representatives.
  • Review FAT/SAT results and assist in preparing punch lists, observations, and follow‑up actions.
Site Support, Pre‑Commissioning & Commissioning
  • Provide mechanical engineering support during site installation, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases when required.
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical equipment issues in coordination with site teams, vendors, and senior engineers.
  • Review and consolidate mechanical commissioning documents, checklists, and as‑built information.
Knowledge Development & Lessons Learned (REX)
  • Capture and document lessons learned from mechanical design and project activities.
  • Participate in REX sessions, technical trainings, and discipline development initiatives.
  • Actively develop technical competencies to progress toward full Mechanical Design Engineer capability.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Certifications (Advantage)
  1. Basic training or certification related to mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, rotating equipment, pressure systems)
  2. Basic HSE or safety training
  3. Quality, inspection, FAT/SAT, or QA awareness training
  • 2–5-year experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in: Water treatment projects, Wastewater treatment facilities, Pumping stations, Industrial or environmental engineering projects
