Safety Officer (Engineering graduate w/ SO2)
The Medical City Ortigas is searching for an experienced Shift Safety Officer to join the team and help lead the organization to the next level. This role is responsible for ensuring the environmental and safety compliance of hospital, site conditions, standards, and processes; and overseeing program and conducting reviews and reports of site conditions, practices, and incidents related to environment and safety requirements.
This role reports directly to the Environment of Care department.
What’s The Role All About?
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Performing regular safety audit in all facilities based on the annual plan
- Providing safety audit report focused on best practices, identified unsafe acts and conditions and corresponding risk if not corrected.
- Recommending and suggesting how to fix, and correcting the findings on unsafe conditions.
- Collaborating with Facilities, Security, Housekeeping, Hospital Infection Control and Epidemiology Center for additional recommendation for improvement.
- Performing safety assessment requested by the department concerned through the identification of safety related issues.
Who Are We Looking For?
An effective Shift Safety Officer must possess the following skills:
- Regulatory and Compliance Management: investigate standard incidents using current regulatory and compliance processes, systems, and procedures, and take action to solve immediate compliance issues.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Oversee the organization's health safety and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks
- Audit Compliance: Deliver audit assignments based on planned schedule and areas of assignment
Ideally, a candidate must be a graduate of Bachelor's degree in any field of Engineering with Safety Officer 2 Certification and Certified Fire Responder, preferably attended training related to Loss Control Management.
Preferably with work experience; (General work: experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised for 12 months to 2 years / Managerial work: basic experience of coordinating the work of others for at least 6 months).
The candidate must also be willing to work in a shifting schedule, including work on night-shifts, weekends, or holidays
