Lead and execute the strategy for a specific product or service category, managing supplier relationships, contracts, and performance to deliver category savings and operational efficiency.
  1. Developing and executing strategy for assigned category (e.g., Fuel & Lubricants).
  2. Owning product/service scope and leading supplier engagement.
  3. Managing supplier relationships, contracts, and category performance.
  4. Conducting market analysis to define sourcing strategies.
  5. Managing supplier performance and driving category savings.
  6. Coordinating with internal stakeholders to align category strategies.
  7. Ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  8. Identifying innovation and improvement opportunities.
  9. Managing risks associated with category supply and demand.
  10. Reporting on category KPIs and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement or category management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years total work experience in maritime procurement, sourcing, or category management.
  • At least 3 years in a category leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier engagement and performance management.
  • Extensive experience in maritime procurement and supply chain management.
  • Category strategy development and execution.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management.
  • Supplier relationship and performance management.
  • Analytical and market analysis skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
