Junior Accountant (for General Ledger)

Job description:

The Junior Accountant (GL) is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts to support timely and accurate financial reporting. This role shall have strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
2. Prepare accurate journal entries and ensure timely posting in the accounting system.
3. Contribute with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
4. Perform bank reconciliations and inter-company account reconciliations.
5. Analyze financial statements for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
6. Comply with month-end and year-end closing and audits.
7. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
8. Support external and internal audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
9. Prepare and submit financial reports as necessary.
10. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
11. Record, file, and monitor documents on all transactions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate in BS Accountancy, Finance Management, or a related field.
• At least 1 year experience in related field.
• Well knowledgeable in using Microsoft Dynamics 365, MS Office applications, GP Dynamics, GSuite, and the likes.
• Expertise in generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and AR and AP Processes, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, or the equivalent.
• Knowledgeable on BIR and SEC rulings and regulations.
• Must be willing to assist and prepare reports for internal and external audit, bank reconciliation, and journal entry.
• Must be willing to work on a hybrid set-up. Office location is in Western Bicutan, Taguig City.
