Accounting Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:
Accounting Supervisor assists the Accounting Manager and Business Owners by overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role helps implement accounting policies and internal controls, supports financial analysis for decision-making, and guides the accounting team to maintain efficiency and professionalism.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of Accounting Operations – Lead, supervise, and review the daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense monitoring to ensure accurate and efficient processes.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis – Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually); review reconciliations, monitor revenue and expenses, and provide variance analysis to management.
- Compliance & Internal Controls – Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, and other government regulatory requirements; establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Process Improvement & Automation – Recommend and implement improvements in accounting processes, automation, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership & Development – Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to accounting staff; assign tasks, review outputs, and support the team’s professional growth and well-being.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing – Supervise and ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Collaboration with Management – Work closely with the Accounting Manager, business owners, and other departments to provide financial insights that support business planning and decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (CPA license preferred but not required).
Experience: 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role (such as managing staff). Experience with accounting software such as HELIX, XERO, QuickBooks, or similar systems is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), GAAP, and taxation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; adept at financial analysis and report preparation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
