IT Support Intern - Job Description

Position Overview

The IT Support Intern provides hands-on assistance to the IT Department in delivering day-to-day

technical support, onboarding preparation, system maintenance, and documentation tasks. This role is

designed to help the intern gain real-world experience in IT operations while supporting the team in

ensuring smooth and efficient technology services across the organization.

1. Day-to-Day Technical Support

• Support end-users with printer, network, and system concerns
• Perform workstation checks (updates, antivirus status, connectivity)

• Provide basic meeting support (projector/TV setup, audio/video checks)

1. Onboarding Assistance

• Prepare laptops for new hires (formatting, OS updates, application installation)
• Assist in creating user accounts (Email, CRM, Dreams, Shared Drives)
• Support IT orientation by guiding new employees through basic system usage

1. Documentation & Inventory

• Update IT asset inventory (laptops, peripherals, accessories)
• Maintain logs of support tickets and resolutions
• Assist in documenting IT procedures, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides
• Help track consumables (toner, cables, peripherals)

1. System & Network Support

• Assist in monitoring network connectivity and reporting issues
• Support routine maintenance tasks (router checks, cable management, device labeling)
• Help perform workstation performance checks and minor repairs

1. Proactive IT Tasks

• Conduct regular workstation health checks
• Identify recurring issues and report them to the IT Supervisor
• Suggest improvements to IT processes and documentation
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the IT work area and storage
