Web Developer (ECommerce & Web Design Focus)

This is a remote position.

Working Hours and Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM AEST (with a 1hour unpaid lunch break per day)
• - Work is not required on official Philippine national public holidays.

Initially looking to engage a Web Developer for a fixed term to enhance and rebuild our company’s Website and ECommerce storefront. Thereafter, there is the opportunity to be engaged on a part time basis for ongoing Website Maintenance and day two support.

The added function of tailored customer portals with customer login feature is a further requirement. You will collaborate with the business owner to ensure that our online platform meets business goals and delivers a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ECommerce Website Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain ecommerce website using industrystandard technologies (Currently the business utilises WIX E Commerce. This to be reviewed and determined ongoing).
• - Implement, customize, and optimize shopping cart functionalities and checkout processes to improve conversion rates.
• 2. Web Design and User Experience:
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and crossbrowser compatibility for all web pages.
• - Conduct user testing and gather feedback to continuously improve site usability and performance.
• 3. FrontEnd Development:
• Craft engaging user interfaces incorporating modern design principles.
• - Integrate APIs and thirdparty services, including payment gateways, shipping providers, and analytics tools.
• - Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability while adhering to best practices in SEO.
• 4. BackEnd Development:
• Manage databases and perform serverside scripting to control and store data effectively.
• - Ensure site security by implementing best practices around data protection and compliance.
• 5. Ongoing Maintenance and Day 2 Support:
• Monitor site performance, perform regular updates, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• - Provide enduser support for ecommerce functionalities and train internal teams on platform usage as needed.
• 6. Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with business owner to ensure alignment between design, branding, and online promotional activities.
• - Coordinate with business owner to meet deadlines and deliver highquality outputs on time.
• - Engage in team brainstorming sessions to develop innovative solutions and enhance ecommerce strategies.
• Requirements
• Web Development, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• - Proven experience of 3+ years in web development, specifically in an ecommerce environment.
• - Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
• - Previous experience with ecommerce platforms (Shopify, WIX, WooCommerce, Magento) and their customization.
• - Solid understanding of SEO principles and website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
• Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of graphic design and visual branding; proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma.
• - Experience with version control systems (Git) and project management tools (Jira, Trello).
• - Familiarity with backend technologies and database management systems is a plus.
• - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problemsolving.
