Construction Project Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer with a background in civil engineering. The ideal candidate will support the planning, coordination, and execution of residential, commercial, and vertical projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to assist in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
What type of work will you be doing?
The Construction Project Engineer supports construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring that technical, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved under the guidance of the Construction Project Manager. The role focuses on technical coordination, documentation, and day-to-day project execution. The responsibilities cover the project lifecycle, including:
- Initiating:
- Assisting in defining project objectives, deliverables, and scope.
- Supporting the identification of stakeholders and project requirements.
- Planning:
- Preparing detailed engineering and technical documentation, drawings, and layouts.
- Supporting the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinating with designers, consultants, and vendors to ensure technical requirements are feasible.
- Assisting in identifying risks and recommending mitigation measures.
- Executing:
- Supporting the Construction Project Manager in coordinating construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitoring site activities to ensure adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Reviewing technical submissions, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Assisting with procurement, contract administration, and managing minor change requests.
- Monitoring & Controlling:
- Tracking progress of tasks against project plans and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Performing inspections and technical checks to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
- Reporting project status, issues, and potential delays to the Construction Project Manager.
- Implementing corrective actions under the guidance of the Construction Project Manager.
- Closing:
- Assisting in final inspections, punch lists, and ensuring all technical deliverables are met.
- Supporting project documentation, handover, and client acceptance processes.
- Contributing to post-project evaluations and lessons learned documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support: Assisting in project scheduling, budgeting, scope tracking, and risk monitoring for projects of varying sizes and complexity.Planning & Design Assistance: Supporting the preparation of layouts, drawings, and design coordination to ensure project requirements are met.
Technical Oversight & Validation: Reviewing and checking technical outputs from Shared Services, Engineering, and subcontractor teams; supporting maintenance, repair, and job request works.
Quality & Safety Support: Conducting site inspections, identifying issues, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and QA/QC standards under guidance from senior management.
Contract & Procurement Assistance: Supporting contract administration, monitoring vendor deliverables, and assisting in procurement processes to meet project and company requirements.
Team Coordination: Collaborating with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants to facilitate smooth execution and effective communication on site.
Stakeholder Communication: Preparing technical documentation, progress reports, and updates for internal teams, clients, and consultants, under supervision of the Construction Project Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- PRC Licensed Engineer.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project management, construction project engineering, preferably with exposure to high-rise or top-down projects.
- Familiar with construction methods, project planning, building codes, and safety standards.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Ability to design, plot, read, and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics, and prepare basic BOQ.
- Physically fit to perform on-site inspections and technical work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Training or certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Basic First Aid, or Fire Safety.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM 360, or any related design and coordination tools.
- Preferably with experience in studio projects set-up and construction.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license (DL Code B1/B2), advantageous for site mobility as a back-up plan.
