Electrical Engineer - Quezon City

About the role

JFE Engineering Corp. Philippine Branch is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Metro Manila on a contract basis. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and components, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

1. Design & Engineering
2. Develop electrical system design such as single line diagrams and system layouts
3. Perform load calculations and power distribution analysis
4. Design concept document of lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems for

1. Create equipment installation details and specifications
2. Design cable routing and cable tray layouts
3. Prepare electrical room layouts and equipment arrangements
4. Prepare electrical BOQ for electrical works
5. Review and approve subcontractor's implementation electrical drawings with instrument

1. Verify electrical system specifications and requirements
2. Review and approve vendor drawings and technical submissions
3. Survey of existing electrical facilities and confirmation of existing drawings
4. Vendor Management
5. Prepare and review Material Requisitions and Technical Specification for electrical

1. Review vendor technical proposals and provide technical evaluations
2. Participate in technical bid clarification meetings
3. Review vendor documentation including data sheets, drawings, and quality plans
4. Manage technical communication with vendors to finalize equipment specifications
5. Expedite vendor document submissions according to project schedule
6. Provide technical support during manufacturing and inspection stages
7. Evaluate technical capabilities of potential vendors
8. Prepare approval documents for client review and coordinate responses to client comments
9. Monitor manufacturing progress and testing activities coordinating with Procurement Team.
10. Participate in vendor qualification process
11. Review and develop equipment maintenance manuals
12. Review and develop equipment inspection procedures
13. Monitor vendor performance and compliance
14. Attend factory acceptance tests as required
15. Technical Communication & Client Interface
16. Respond to and resolve technical queries from client
17. Prepare technical clarification responses for client review comments
18. Document technical decisions and maintain communication records
19. Participate in client technical meetings and design reviews
20. Prepare technical deviation requests when required
21. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper installation
22. Monitor construction progress and quality control
23. Interdisciplinary Coordination
24. Lead technical coordination meetings with Civil, Process, Equipment, and Instrumentation

1. Coordinate electrical requirements with other disciplines
2. Review equipment locations for interference with other systems
3. Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with plant equipment
4. Construction Support & Commissioning
5. Review contractor's method statements and implementation procedures
6. Review and approve subcontractor's detailed design drawings and technical documents
7. Supervise testing and commissioning activities
8. Develop commissioning procedures and checklists
9. Verify installation quality and compliance
10. Review test results and commissioning reports
11. Prepare punch lists and follow up on completion
12. Support system handover activities
13. Support operator training programs
14. Documentation & Project Control
15. Prepare as-built documentation
16. Review O&M manuals from vendors
17. Develop and maintain project schedules for electrical deliverables
18. Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies
19. Report critical technical issues promptly with proposed solutions
20. Track and report KPIs related to electrical engineering activities

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
2. Professional Electrical Engineer license
3. Minimum 10 years experience in industrial plant electrical systems
4. Strong knowledge of international electrical codes and standards
5. Experience with medium voltage power distribution systems
6. Knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code & Standards
7. Fluent business level of verbal and written communication skills in English
8. Strong personality, positive attitude and ability to work under pressure
9. Experience in coordination with other engineering disciplines
10. Strong background in electrical system design and specification
11. Experience in vendor technical evaluation and management

1. Proficiency in electrical system design
2. Experience with power system analysis software
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or E-Tap
4. Knowledge of international equipment standards and specifications
5. Understanding of testing and commissioning procedures
6. Familiarity with quality control requirements
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

1. Experience in wastewater treatment plant projects
2. Experience in managing offshore design teams
3. Familiarity with EPC project execution
