The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Bookkeeper based in the Philippines to own the day-to-day finance operations for a range of Australian SME clients. You’ll lead on Xero-based bookkeeping, manage month-end processes, and mentor junior team members. Your client portfolio will include businesses in eCommerce, hospitality, professional services, digital and creative industries.

You’ll work alongside our tax and advisory teams, have direct client exposure, and play an important role in improving systems, processes, and service delivery.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping using Xero across multiple clients
  • Reconcile bank/credit accounts, ATO accounts (GST, PAYGW, etc.), and clearing accounts
  • Process payroll, STP, superannuation, and entitlements
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS
  • Maintain accurate ledgers and clean financial records
  • Generate monthly reports: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
  • Prepare supplier payments, match remittances, and manage AP/AR
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Support and resolve client queries
  • Review junior team members’ work and provide coaching
  • Suggest process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Set up and manage cloud integrations (e.g. Shopify, A2X, Cin7, Dext, Deputy, Square, Employment Hero)
  • Stay current on AU compliance and best practice changes
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • At least 3 years of Australian bookkeeping experience (4+ with min 2 years in a senior role is a bonus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (or similar)
  • Xero Certified and Xero Payroll Certified. Must have experience with Xero, XPM, Hubdoc or Dext. Bonus if you know Shopify, A2X, Cin7, Dear, Deputy/Tanda
  • Confident handling BAS, IAS, super, and STP
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Proven experience with eCommerce and hospitality clients (must-have)
  • High attention to detail and accountability. You will have Experience managing multiple clients with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and managing workflows
  • Familiarity with cloud apps like Shopify, A2X, Cin7, or Dear, Deputy/Tanda is highly valued
