Design Engineer- Substation - Muntinlupa

Job Summary

Design Engineer – Substation is responsible for supporting the design and development of high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical substations. This includes preparing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for new installations, upgrades, or maintenance projects.

• Assist in developing electrical designs for substation projects
• Prepare layout drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and grounding plans using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Perform basic electrical calculations such as voltage drop, cable sizing, and short-circuit analysis.
• Generate technical documentation such as bills of materials, cable schedules, and design reports.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, protection & control) during design development.
• Review and incorporate vendor data and equipment specifications into project drawings.
• Support construction and commissioning teams by providing design clarifications or updates.
• Maintain design files, revisions, and documentation control in accordance with company procedures.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Licensed Electrical Engineer (preferred, but not always required).
• Completion of relevant training or certifications (e.g., substation design, grounding systems, power system analysis) is a plus.
• Ability to Design
• Substation layouts (AIS/GIS).
• Single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Wiring and interconnection diagrams.
• Grounding and lightning protection systems.
• Conduit and cable routing plans.
• Local electrical codes and grid regulations (e.g., NGCP standards in the Philippines, if applicable).
• Familiarity with utility and substation owner specifications (e.g., NGCP, Meralco, DOE).
• Understanding of substation safety, grounding practices, and clearances.
• Interpretation of manufacturer datasheets and electrical drawings.
