Job Information
Job Description- General Maintenance: Changing light fixtures, ballast units, and fuses across the ship (engine room, deck, and crew cabins).
- Battery & Power Systems: Regularly checking and maintaining the ship's battery banks, emergency lighting systems, and portable electrical tools.
- Motor & Machinery Support: Cleaning and greasing electric motors, checking carbon brushes, and assisting in the overhaul of alternators and switchboards.
- Cable Management: Assisting in the laying, securing, and "pulling" of new cables during repairs or upgrades.
- Reefer Monitoring: On container ships, they often assist in monitoring and plugging/unplugging refrigerated containers (reefers).
- Safety Inspections: Testing fire detectors, smoke sensors, and alarms under the supervision of the ETO.
