QA Automation Engineer (Philippines)
- Overview
We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer based in the Philippines ?? to drive quality across the software development lifecycle.
You will focus on test automation, quality engineering, and continuous improvement, working closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.- Compensation
- USD $1,800 – $2,000 monthly (contractor, full-time)
- Own and execute the automation strategy for assigned teams or initiatives
- Identify high-impact opportunities for test automation
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts (functional, regression, API, integration, E2E)
- Collaborate with developers to implement shift-left testing practices
- Perform API, backend, and database testing
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and support release quality gates
- Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and validate fixes
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve testing efficiency and insights
- Maintain reusable and scalable test assets and documentation
- Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in test automation for web, APIs, and backend systems
- Proficiency in tools/languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, Postman
- Strong experience with API testing, SQL, and database validation
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Understanding of shift-left testing and quality engineering best practices
- Exposure to cloud platforms and containerized environments (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience or interest in AI-assisted testing tools (preferred)
- Strong communication skills in English
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
