The Chief Nurse is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within the hospital.
This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

The position provides strategic leadership, manages nursing staff, and collaborates with other departments to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialty units.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care across all nursing units.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure adequate nurse-to-patient ratios.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Promote continuous professional development and training programs for nurses.
  • Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, department heads, and executive leadership to support hospital goals.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and cost control initiatives.
  • Lead quality improvement programs, infection control measures, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Handle escalated patient or staff concerns and ensure timely resolution.
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of healthcare systems and electronic medical records (EMR).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of nursing experience is required.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of leadership or managerial experience is required.
  • Proven experience in hospital or acute care settings is required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and patient safety practices is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills are required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making abilities are required.
  • Experience in budgeting, staffing, and operational planning is preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospital systems and electronic medical records (EMR) is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to patient care excellence is expected.
