Job Description:
A. Tax & Regulatory Compliance- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), VAT, withholding taxes (EWT, FWT, Compensation), and other statutory filings with BIR.
- Manage compliance with BOI, SEC, DTI, LGUs, and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee maintenance and accuracy of all tax books, schedules, and reconciliations.
- Ensure renewals of registrations, permits, and certifications.
- Identify opportunities for lawful tax savings, incentives, and refunds opportunities such as BOI incentives, VAT refunds, and income tax holidays.
- Prepare feasibility assessments and supporting analyses for tax incentive applications, including qualification checks, projected benefits, cost-benefit comparisons, and compliance commitments.
- Provide strategic guidance on tax-efficient structures for transactions and business initiatives by assessing tax implications, recommending compliant options, and coordinating requirements with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct periodic tax and regulatory risk assessments and recommend mitigating actions.
- Lead the company’s response to BIR audits, LOAs, BOI compliance audits, and other regulatory examinations.
- Coordinate documentation, justifications, and reconciliations required for audit defense.
- Monitor new laws, regulations, and tax issuances (BIR RMCs/RR, BOI guidelines, etc.) and present concise impact assessments to leadership, highlighting required operational changes, risks, and potential investment implications.
- Conduct internal briefings and trainings to ensure teams understand changes in tax and compliance requirements.
- Maintain updated policies, manuals and process documentation for tax and statutory compliance.
- Advise management on tax implications and compliance risks of operational strategies, transactions, and business decisions.
- Provide tax and regulatory advisory on contracts and intercompany arrangements, and collaborate with Legal, Procurement, and Operations to identify and mitigate regulatory exposure.
- Perform scenario analysis to balance compliance obligations with financial optimization and risk management.
- Function as the primary liaison for external financial audits related to tax and statutory components.
- Ensure internal policies and controls align with governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Support internal audit activities and implement improvements.
- Support department initiatives, compliance-driven projects, and regulatory programs by providing technical expertise, documentation, and regulatory insight to help achieve compliance, governance, and risk-management objectives.
Job Qualifications:
- Education:
- A graduate of BS Accountancy. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
- Related Experience:
- Has 4 to 5 years of progressive experience in taxation, statutory reporting, or regulatory compliance.
- Hands‑on experience handling Philippine taxes and BIR audits.
- Has an experience with SEC, LGU, BOI and/or PEZA, and DTI compliance is an advantage.
- Has exposure to engineering and multinational or shared‑services environments, particularly with US parent companies and intercompany cost‑reimbursement arrangements, is preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong technical knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of SEC, LGU, BOI, PEZA, and DTI regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem‑solving skills.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation to management.
- Behavioral/Physical:
- High attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work under deadline pressure.
- Technical:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365; experience with ERP systems and e‑filing platforms (eFPS, eBIRForms, regulatory portals).
