Finance Modeling Analyst

Job Summary

The Financial Analyst supports the Planning & Corporate Services function of CORE by providing rigorous financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and performance monitoring across development and operating assets.

This role ensures timely and accurate financial modeling, reporting, and data consolidation to support capital planning, strategic initiatives, and executive decision-making. The position plays a critical role in maintaining financial discipline, portfolio visibility, and performance transparency in CORE.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform independent scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
• Support reconciliation of financial projections with approved budgets, funding structures, and corporate planning submissions.

• Support the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Track actual performance against approved budget and forecast targets.
• Prepare variance analysis reports and identify key drivers of performance deviations.
• Assist in rolling forecast and reforecast exercises as required.
• Assist in evaluating financing options (debt, equity, internal funding) for capital budgeting

• Prepare periodic portfolio financial reports and management dashboards.
• Consolidate data across other departments
• Support development of KPIs and lead measures aligned with OGS strategic objectives.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial information submitted to corporate functions.

• Assist in maintaining financial risk registers.
• Support documentation of financial exposures, sensitivities, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with budgeting guidelines, approval processes, and reporting standards.
• Maintain organized records of financial analyses and model versions.

• Coordinate with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Portfolio Management Group, Corporate Communications and Corporate Planning teams for data validation and alignment.
• Support shared services coordination by providing required financial information and analysis.
• Participate in management meetings to provide financial insights as required.

• Assist in enhancing financial modeling standards, reporting templates, and dashboard tools.
• Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the Planning & Corporate Services function.
• Contribute to ad hoc analyses requested by the Leadership, Management, Planning & Corporate Services, Portfolio Management Group and others.
• Support in Board and Management Report preparations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accountancy, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA, CPA, CFA, CMA, FMVA or equivalent is highly preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial modeling, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or project finance.
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities, or capital-intensive industries is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools.
• Experience in dashboarding and reporting tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial data and translate into clear insights.
