Librarian

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

• A degree in Library Science; with units in Master's in Library Science is a plus.
• With 1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates are still encouraged to apply.
• Must be a Registered Librarian.
• Experience using computers and working with electronic databases.
• Familiarity with information management systems.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication.
• Ability to multitask.
• A patient and friendly personality.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Head of the Library Department, oversees the smooth delivery of services, the maintenance of the cleanliness and orderliness, the over-all filing and organization of the records and the collection in the section/unit assignment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. TECHNICAL SERVICES- Cataloguing and classification of knowledge or sources of information into relevant organized collections and creation of local databases for speedy access, retrieval or delivery information.
2. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY- Establishment of library system and procedures; dissemination of information; rendering of information, reference, and research assistance; archiving and education of user.
3. REFERENCE SERVICES- Rendering of services involving technical knowledge/ expertise in abstracting, indexing, cataloguing and classifying or the preparation of bibliographies, subject authority lists, Thesauri, and union catalogues/lists; teaching, lecturing and conducting library orientation on library facilities, resources and services.
4. READER'S SERVICES- Rendering of reader's assistance and services in borrowing library materials.
