Muntinlupa - Onsite backend developer (5years experience)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced PHP Laravel Backend Developer with at least 5 years of experience building and maintaining web applications. You should be confident working with Laravel, handling database transactions, and have a strong understanding of PHP, MySQL, and real-time features using Web Sockets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Laravel and PHP
• Write clean, secure, and optimized code following best practices and coding standards
• Work with MySQL for managing data, queries, and database transactions
• Develop and optimize MySQL database schemas, indexes, queries, and stored procedures
• Integrate and manage WebSocket servers for real-time communication features
• Collaborate with front-end developers and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences
• Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and support CI/CD pipelines
• Help improve performance, fix bugs, and ensure the system is stable and scalable
• Document technical solutions and participate in architecture discussions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience with PHP and the Laravel framework
• In-depth understanding of Laravel features such as Eloquent ORM, middleware, service providers, jobs/queues, and Artisan CLI
• Strong experience with MySQL: database design, indexing, query optimization, and ACID-compliant transactions
• Knowledge and experience working with Web Sockets (e.g., Laravel Echo, Pusher, Soketi, Ratchet, or similar)
• Proficient in RESTful API development and integration
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and basic DevOps practices
• Good understanding of security best practices (e.g., SQL injection, CSRF, XSS)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
• Experience with Git and version control

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Redis, queue systems (e.g., Laravel Horizon)
• Knowledge of message brokers (e.g., MQTT, Kafka, or Redis Pub/Sub)
• Familiarity with frontend technologies or frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React)
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
