Ambulance Driver

Job Description

The Ambulance Driver shall provide prompt and efficient transport services during emergency and non-emergency situations in accordance with hospital policies and road safety regulations.

• Safely transport patients, medical personnel, and equipment during emergency and non-emergency ambulance operations
• Respond promptly to ambulance dispatch calls and ensure timely patient transfers
• Assist healthcare personnel in loading and unloading patients when necessary
• Ensure the ambulance is equipped with the required medical supplies and emergency equipment before deployment
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections (engine oil, coolant, tires, brakes, lights, siren, oxygen system, and other emergency equipment)
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and readiness of the ambulance at all times
• Observe all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and emergency vehicle operating procedures
• Immediately report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance requirements
• Maintain accurate transport logs, trip records, fuel consumption reports, and related documents
• Coordinate with emergency responders, healthcare staff, and receiving facilities during patient transport
• Assist during disasters, emergency situations, hospital activities, and other operational requirements
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

• At least High School Graduate (Vocational or College level is an advantage)
• Must possess a valid Professional Driver’s License (Restriction Code 2 & 3 or equivalent)
• With NC II Certification (Driving or relevant TESDA certification)
• At least 2 years of professional driving experience; ambulance driving experience is an advantage
• Knowledgeable in defensive driving techniques and emergency vehicle operation
• Familiar with local and provincial routes
• Knowledgeable in traffic laws, road safety regulations, and emergency response procedures
• Basic First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) training is an advantage
• Capable of working on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs
• Demonstrates professionalism, composure, and sound judgment in emergency situations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• No derogatory driving record and with a strong commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
