Job Description

The Senior Carpentry Specialist is responsible for executing advanced carpentry works, supervising carpentry teams, and ensuring high-quality construction and finishing of wooden structures and fixtures. This role plays a key part in project delivery by interpreting technical plans, coordinating with different teams, and ensuring all work meets company standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.

• Execute advanced carpentry works including framing, formwork, cabinetry, finishing, and structural installations.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
• Supervise, assign tasks, and monitor performance of carpenters, helpers, and apprentices.
• Ensure all carpentry works meet quality standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and related materials with precision.
• Inspect structures and perform repairs or modifications when necessary.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other trades for efficient workflow.
• Monitor progress of work and ensure completion within set timelines.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and proper condition.
• Prepare material estimates and assist in procurement and cost control.
• Troubleshoot construction issues and implement effective solutions.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior carpenters and team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications: Experience

• At least 5–10 years of carpentry experience.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or senior role.
• Experience in construction, shipbuilding, or industrial projects is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent leadership and team supervision skills.
• High attention to detail and craftsmanship quality.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., OSHA or local regulations.)
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
