Finance Reporting & Compliance Manager

The Financial reporting and compliance manager oversees a business’s day-to-day financial operations. This position is in-charged of traditional duties such as closing the books and regulatory compliance, balanced by supporting company strategy, together with the Finance Head.
Financial reporting:
- Develop and implement methods to ensure daily transactions are encoded in Xero accounting system.
- Review the financial statements to ensure they are accurate (accruals, provisions and reversal entries are posted on a timely manner).
- Preparing month-end reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Ensure that the quarterly financial statements match with BIR and reportorial submissions
- Assist the Finance Head in tracking, reporting , and analyzing budget variances, if any.
- Main point person during the conduct of external audits of annual year-end financial report to come up with Audited Financial Statements.
Compliance :
- Develop and implement methods to ensure that all entities’ tax returns and related attachments are filed correctly and in compliance with applicable tax regulations
- Ensure to maintain and update books of accounts for submission to BIR
- Monitor all tax operations ensuring their timely completion and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Manage company's tax documentation to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date
- Discover tax risks and develop countermeasures
- Perform tax planning٫ review current structure of tax returns and develop methods to optimize it
- Communicate to the management the possibilities of tax exposures.
Training and continuous improvement:
- Work together with company's accounting personnel and supervise their performance
- Stay updated with the current financial reporting standards, and tax regulations and implement the changes to the applicable entities to ensure compliance
- Stay updated on accounting and finance regulations and share knowledge with the team
- Continuously assess and improve finance-related processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify automation opportunities to streamline financial reporting and Tax compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy, finance or commerce major in accounting
- Must either be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Must be very well-versed in financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Minimum 5 years of extensive exposure to various BIR and SEC regulations and related reportorial requirements
- External audit experience is an advantage, but not required.
- Written and spoken proficiency in English required
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial role
- Experience handling BIR LOA an advantage, but not required
- Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems, including but not limited to Quickbooks and Xero
