Forklift operator

Job Description

1. Transfer materials, goods, and pallets around the designated area.
2. Performs loading and unloading materials from delivery trucks, shipping containers, and other transport vehicles.
3. Moves materials to storage areas, production lines, or other areas within the facility.
4. Ensuring that loads are properly secured and balanced for safe and efficient transport.
5. Inspection of forklift for any malfunctions or issues before and after operation.
6. Reports any damage to the forklift, racks, or other equipment, as well as any safety hazards they encounter.
7. Keeping the work area clear of debris and ensuring that materials are stored properly.
8. Following all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
9. Communicates with other workers to ensure efficient and safe operations.
10. Inspection of materials for damage during loading and unloading, and reporting any damages to the appropriate personnel.
11. Assist in various warehouse activities such as inventory control, receiving, and put-a-way.

1. Forklift operation certification with NCII;
2. Knowledge of safety procedures;
3. Physical fitness and stamina;
4. Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness;
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
6. Attention to detail;
7. Basic math skills, for tasks such as calculating load weights.
8. Excellent time skills which is crucial in ensuring timely delivery of materials.
