JOB SCOPE
The ERP Technical Consultant provides technical leadership for ERP scripting, integrations, and data migration workstreams across client implementations. This role partners closely with project and implementation leadership to evaluate client requests, define the technical approach, and guide delivery from design through deployment and post-go-live support.The consultant translates business requirements into technical solutions, provides technical feedback on client plans and timelines (including feasibility, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs), and ensures solutions are built, tested, and maintained to a high standard.
While NetSuite is a key platform today, the role is expected to apply strong integration and scripting fundamentals across additional business systems as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Assist in the full NetSuite implementation lifecycle and customizations, including development, deployment, and testing. Ensure that all phases meet client requirements and timelines.
- Provide technical leadership for project delivery by defining technical approach, effort estimates, sequencing, dependencies, and risks; partner with Project and Implementation Managers to align timelines and scope.
- Engage with clients to gather requirements, provide system configuration, and customize NetSuite modules to meet their business needs.
- Oversee third-party integrations and data migrations by reviewing requirements, defining technical approach, and guiding testing and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and data integrity during the transition from legacy systems.
- Review client requests and implementation plans and provide technical guidance (feasibility, options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommended approach), especially for scripting, integrations, and data migration.
- Provide training, support, and post-implementation services to ensure system adoption and ongoing optimization.
- Document the implementation process, including progress reports and status updates, ensuring all activities are tracked and communicated effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in ERP systems scripting in NetSuite, or other systems such as Salesforce, SAP, and other similar systems.
- Experience with ERP modules and APIs (SuiteApps, SuiteScript, TypeScript, OpenAPI, Workflows, etc.).
- Strong understanding of APIs (SuiteScript, REST, etc.).
- Proven track record of successful development of ERP scripts, workflows, and integrations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems integrations (Avalara, Brex, REST, etc.).
- Experience working with middleware platforms such as Celigo and Dell Boomi, including designing, implementing, and managing integrations between systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with project leads and team members at all levels.
- Strong coding and development skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve code, integrations, and workflows effectively, with keen attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- ERP certifications (e.g., NetSuite Certified ERP Consultant) are a plus.
- Knowledge and/or experience with AI Tools (Claude, Parabola, etc.) and MCP systems are a plus
- ERP Systems Scripting and Integration Development – Expertise in developing ERP scripts and integrations, including SAML/SSO and SuiteScript, tailored to client specifications. This also encompasses familiarity with ERP system workflows and other automation tools like Zapier and N8N.
- AI Familiarity – Knowledge of AI GPTs, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Meta, and Claude.
- AI-Assisted IDE Familiarity – Proficiency in using AI-assisted Integrated Development Environments (IDEs). This includes leveraging AI for coding and scripting tasks, such as using VS Code with Codex integration, Replit, Cursor, and similar tools.
- API Usage and Documentation Familiarity – Proficient in creating and interpreting API documentation, particularly for ERP systems such as SuiteScript, TypeScript, FloQast API, Ramp API, Bill API, and SAP API.
- Programming Language Familiarity - Proficient in developing code and scripts using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and SQL.
- Development Cycle and Project Management – Strong understanding of development cycles and project delivery, including experience using work management tools such as ClickUp, Jira, and similar platforms (for example, Monday.com) to track milestones, timelines, and resource needs.
- Code Change Management – Ability to effectively utilize development management tools such as Git, Perforce, or Jira. Capable of creating comprehensive baseline documentation to facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Testing and Quality Assurance – Proficient in troubleshooting and executing test cases to ensure the proper functioning of configured solutions and system integrations.
- Post-Implementation Support – Capable of delivering ongoing support post-deployment, focusing on troubleshooting and system optimization.
- Customer Service Support – Skilled in handling ad hoc issues, efficiently resolving routine problems, and escalating complex matters for specialized attention.
- System Documentation – Skilled in producing comprehensive documentation for scripts, workflows, system configurations, customizations, training manuals, and development progress.
