About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounting Clerk to join the finance team at Gitamondoc-Gopaoco Construction Corporation. This is a full-time position based in Camputhaw, Cebu City, Cebu. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of our accounting department.

As an Accounting Clerk, you will support the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities that are essential to the smooth functioning of our construction business. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy will directly contribute to the company's financial health and decision-making processes.

What you'll be doing
  • Process and monitor government-mandated employee benefits, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR requirements.
  • Prepare and submit government reports, remittances, and required documents within prescribed deadlines.
  • Coordinate with government agencies regarding registrations, compliance, inquiries, and employee benefit concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee contributions, loans, and government-related transactions.
  • Assist in bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining journals and ledgers, and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Organize and maintain accounting files and government compliance records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and support internal and external audits.
  • Perform other accounting, administrative, and government-related duties as assigned.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, or any related field.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping practices and familiarity with accounting principles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks or similar systems is advantageous)
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting terminology
  • Reliability and a professional approach to handling confidential financial information
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within small to medium-sized practices
  • Familiarity with construction industry accounting (desirable but not essential)
