About the Role
We are looking for a strong Backend Operations Development Engineer to join our Ops Dev team and help drive backend platform development while supporting critical operational escalations.
This is not a ticket-routing or pure support role. We need an engineer who can balance hands-on backend development with technical problem-solving in a fast-paced production environment.
The current Ops Dev team is heavily occupied with T2 escalations, reviews, middleware support, and internal platform maintenance, which has slowed backend project delivery. This role is critical in helping reduce operational bottlenecks, freeing senior engineers to focus on strategic platform initiatives, middleware events, reporting systems, developer APIs, and internal tools.

What You’ll Own- Backend development for internal platforms, APIs, middleware services, and operational tools
- Investigation and resolution of backend escalations and production issues
- Supporting middleware event processing and system integrations
- Contributing to reporting/data-related backend services
- Improving platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Working closely with frontend, platform, and support teams to unblock issues quickly
- Assisting in automation initiatives and leveraging AI tools to improve workflows and productivity
- Helping reduce escalation load so the Ops Dev team can focus on long-term platform development
- 3–4+ years of backend development experience
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and backend services
- Comfortable working in production environments and handling escalations/debugging
- Understanding of microservices, integrations, and middleware concepts
- Familiarity with SQL/relational databases
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows
- Comfortable using AI tools and automation to improve engineering productivity
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with developer portals or internal platforms
- Exposure to frontend/backend integration workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms or DevOps practices
- Familiarity with event-driven systems or message queues
- Experience supporting high-volume production systems
