Equipment operations & maintenance officer

Job Summary:

Responsible for supervising the servicing, repairing and maintenance of a wide variety of heavy-duty automotive equipment, diagnosis of defects and failures of equipment, and checking equipment after completion of repairs, and manages consultations, work orders, and review of work reports.

The incumbent shall perform the following:

1. Supervises the activities and performance of Heavy Equipment Operators, Mechanics and Service Vehicle Drivers.
2. Oversees the servicing, repairing and maintenance of a variety of service vehicles and heavy equipment such as bulldozers, road roller, dump trucks, graders, pay loaders, back hoes, and other minor equipment.
3. Supervises and assists in the repair, service and modification of heavy-duty equipment.
4. Participates in the repair and overhaul of heavy equipment.
5. Makes inspections of work performed, and road tests equipment to determine the further usability or repair needs of vehicles, as a review of the work performed by the mechanics.
6. Determines the necessity for the replacement of parts and approves issuances.
7. Maintains records of equipment repaired along with time spent on such equipment by each Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
8. Assigns jobs to Heavy Equipment Mechanics according to their capability and the extent of repairs to be done, as determined from work orders received or complaints from operators of the equipment.
9. Maintains a schedule for preventative maintenance on all equipment providing for lubrication, replacement of tires and tune ups.
10. Performs other related work as required.

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• At least (3) years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
