Hatcher Advisory seeks a Bookkeeper who keeps our financial gears running smoothly. This role demands someone sharp and organised, with a love for numbers and a keen eye for detail.

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. This role involves managing day-to-day transactions, reconciling accounts, assisting with financial reporting, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.

This role ensures our clients’ finances transparent, efficient, and reliable, financially fit and on track.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transaction Recording & Data Entry
  • Record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
  1. Bank & Account Reconciliation
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly categorized and allocated.
  1. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Ensure timely payments to suppliers and manage creditor relationships.
  1. Payroll Processing & Compliance
  • Process payroll, including calculating wages, superannuation, and entitlements.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO reporting (PAYG, STP) and payroll tax requirements.
  • Maintain employee records and leave balances.
  1. BAS & GST Compliance
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
  • Ensure GST compliance by correctly categorizing transactions.
  • Maintain proper records for ATO audits.
  • Accurately prepare and file the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR).
  1. Financial Reporting & Assistance
  • Generate financial reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist accountants in preparing financial statements and tax returns.
  • Provide clients with insights on financial health and budgeting.
  1. Compliance & Record-Keeping
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  1. Client Communication & Support
  • Respond to client inquiries related to bookkeeping matters.
  • Provide guidance on best bookkeeping practices and software usage.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling client data.

About You

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting (or equivalent experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related field.
  • Understanding of Australian taxation and compliance regulations (BAS, GST, PAYG).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work ONSITE in our office in Angeles, Pampanga.
