[ref. h2812122] NOC Engineer (DAY SHIFT and PERMANENT WORK FROM HOME)

SUMMARY

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NOC Engineer to join our growing team in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure and client systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance across all services.

• Monitor client infrastructure, servers, networks, and services using monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, ConnectWise, etc.)
• Respond to alerts and incidents in real-time, ensuring timely resolution or proper escalation.
• Perform initial triage, diagnostics, and remediation for network, server, and system issues.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolution outcomes in the ticketing system (e.g., ConnectWise, ServiceNow, or similar).
• Escalate complex issues to Tier 2/3 support or vendors as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching, backups, health checks, and updates across client environments.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Help Desk, Systems, Network, and Security) to resolve cross-functional incidents.
• Provide after-hours support based on shift rotation (including nights/weekends/public holidays if applicable).
• Maintain a high standard of customer service, ensuring clear communication and follow-up with clients.
• Continuously document processes, SOPs, and environment-specific runbooks.

• 5+ years of experience in NOC, help desk, or IT support role (preferably within an MSP).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with monitoring, RMM, and ticketing tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
• Flexible on different shift schedules including night shift

• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCSA, CCNA, or similar.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Office 365).
• Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with Linux environments is a plus.

• Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
• Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
