Overview:

The Key Account Manager drives the growth of major accounts across General Trade and Modern Trade channels. This role is responsible for developing sales strategies, negotiating programs, managing account performance, and ensuring long-term partnerships with key customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow revenue across assigned key accounts
  • Lead pricing negotiations, annual business reviews, and promotional planning with buyers/owners
  • Manage PO generation, inventory forecasting, delivery schedules, and account profitability
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to recommend growth programs
  • Ensure account compliance with listing requirements, documentation, content guidelines, and pricing rules
  • Drive new product listings and develop sell-out programs to hit volume targets
  • Cascade weekly and monthly performance updates to management with action plans and forecasts
  • Oversee merchandising or online content requirements (if applicable to the channel)
  • Accounts to handle: SSM,SVI,ACE HARDWARE & WATSONS (Can change depending on management prerogative)
KPIs
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales quotas across all assigned accounts
  • Secure minimum 2 new listings, programs, or activations per month
  • Maintain 95% forecasting accuracy for POs and inventory planning
  • Improve movement of slow-moving SKUs through strategic account-specific promotions
  • Grow annual sales revenue per key account year-on-year

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years experience in Key Accounts, Sales, Modern Trade, General Trade, or FMCG
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and business planning skills
  • Strong analytical ability (forecasting, sales analysis, competitor review)
  • Experience handling major retail accounts is an advantage
  • Confident communicator, able to present programs and business reviews
