Heavy truck driver

Job Description

• Safely operate and drive trucks, flatbeds, or other vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment to construction sites.
• Ensure all loads are secured in accordance with safety regulations to prevent accidents or damage.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
• Load and unload materials and supplies as needed, and ensure accurate delivery to the correct locations on the site.
• Follow all traffic laws, road signs, and construction site speed limits while driving.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment, when necessary.
• Maintain records of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and maintenance schedules.
• Communicate effectively with construction teams, purchasing manager, and other staff to ensure smooth transportation and delivery operations.

• Valid driver’s license (3 and/or 4) with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a driver, preferably in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with construction equipment, tools, and materials is preferred.
• Ability to operate different types of vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, or cranes (if applicable).
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Ability to read and understand delivery schedules, maps, and site layouts.
• Physical strength and stamina to assist with loading and unloading materials when necessary.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
